Rental Facilities

A member is looking into setting up policies and rates for rental facilities:

  • A large Pavillion with 2 outdoor grills and a firepit,
  • A small pavilion in the sports area,
  • And an indoor lounge/gameroom
  • Also a kitchen, which is not commercial – but could be used by groups.

They asked if you are willing to share your insight, contract details, pricing plans (we’ll post the responses below).

RESPONSE #1: Rec hall – if we do food then it’s included with the meal. If they do food we charge $500.00 for the hall and $250 to use our kitchen (commercial kitchen) plus a $250 cleaning fee (waived if they clean). Also, a $500 refundable damage deposit.

Our Lodge and other areas we usually do not charge except for cleaning and damage deposit because most of these are large groups (50 people plus).  A lot depends upon the number of sites and nights.

We do not rent these facilities during peak times.

RESPONSE #2: We charge $250/day for the Rec Hall – 2,000sq’ space with lots of tables & chairs, with a commercial kitchen. We keep a CC on file, but have never charged anyone a fee as they’ve always cleaned up.

We did have a vintage trailer group steal some 1950’s Melmac bowls, that were eventually returned and now live happily in mine and in my sister’s kitchens ๐Ÿ™‚
It’s not available on the online booking, as I like to control who rents it. We also have a policy that it’s available only for rent if 90% of the attendees are registered guests at the campground, as I don’t like it to be used by non-guests. That gets difficult to monitor and too many vehicles coming in and non-guests think the whole park is theirs…..we’ve learned from experience there!

It’s mostly rented by family reunions and Rallies.

When it’s not rented for a private event, the rec hall is open to all guests to use for playing games, doing puzzles, watching movies, etc. The commercial kitchen is always locked. It is not a communal kitchen – never!
