Updates from the CCLOA Office

A September Like No Other

May no future September replicate this one!  Your Executive Director was on the road for 2 solid weeks with the Autumn Listening Tour, and then was completely out of commission for 2 weeks with asthmatic bronchitis. The gasping set in two hours after the Tour ended, triggered by Colorado wildfires.

September is a very critical month because, in addition to the regular workload, it’s when we:

  • Process our final report to the state for our $21,715 marketing grant;
  • Remind members that dues are due by 10/1;
  • Collect and document said dues;
  • Create and manage an all-important board meeting that’s geared to bring the summer-weary campground owners who serve on the Board of Directors up-to-date with busy months of administrative updates so that they can be best prepared to outline our 2019 programs and budget;
  • And create the first newsletter for campground owners since April.

In addition, you know that your Executive Director carries two other state associations, and they also have a similar dues collection and board meeting schedule.

September usually means overtime is required … not 2 weeks out of the office and then 2 weeks of incapacitation!

That being said, THANK YOU to everyone who has been most patient with my lag time. There are so many emails and voice messages waiting for my attention. Please know that if I haven’t yet responded, you’re still on my radar!

While I’m not ready for October to arrive, this is one September to which I gladly bid farewell!

(Well, October didn’t fare much better than September, so I applaud CCLOA members for being so patient with me.)
