Updates from the CCLOA Office

June Tour of Colorado

The June 2018 Tour of Colorado was a huge success!

STATISTICS We managed to:

  • Visit 72 campgrounds (actually, I’m still organizing the office and my notes, so that number could still climb).
  • Cover 2,184 Colorado miles (up and down and all around).
  • Work 14 to 16 hours, driving and visiting with campground owners. Once settled in for the night, I’d try my best to maintain our emails and social media accounts.
  • Collect over 2,600 pictures during this trip! Some of you have maybe recognized a few in our social media posts and in some of the campground listings.

WHO IS “WE”?

  • Mary Arlington, CCLOA’s Executive Director
  • Nicole Wylie, representative from Aspira / ReserveAmerica, our June Tour Sponsor.
  • And our Camp Colorado’s Ramsey Campin’Ram (the fella who became our mascot in 2016).

THANK YOU! Plain and simple, this trip wouldn’t have been possible several key factors:

Sales of CampColorado.com t-shirts (as shown in the picture of me): We thank each and every member who stepped up and ordered the shirts for your stores!

Sponsorship by Aspira / ReserveAmerica: We thank the entire team at Aspira for choosing to sponsor our tour.

I, personally, thank Nicole. We covered a tremendous amount of ground in a very short period of time. She was sometimes making our posts and texts from our phone, with me dictating them while I drove. She was often times lining up where we’d find our next meal. She was plugging in our next destination and monitoring the road and weather conditions. She’d chase down Ramsey Campin’Ram when we’d accidentally leave him alone in the car, and she’d position him for photographs. It was a joy to share with her those many hours of endless go-go-go!

Lodging! Let’s not overlook that rejuvenation time was needed. We had the utmost pleasure of staying mostly at member facilities. While our time at each was extremely limited, the warm welcomes were greatly appreciated after each long day of travel and touring! Thank you:

WHY JUNE? Here are just some of the many reasons:

  • Visit with campground owners to glean appreciation for any current issues they’re facing (the wildfire season launched much earlier than usual)
  • Add colorful summer pictures to our library
  • Invite some yet-to-be members to join CCLOA
  • Generate more awareness of our programs and services.

Recovery has finally settled into my body and mind, and the post-trip office clutter and chaos is calming. Thank you to everyone who’s been patiently waiting for me to reach back out to them.
