Our Camp Colorado Guide is growing in popularity! In 2017, we increased the print quantity, yet we almost ran out by December. This year, by the first week in April we were almost out of stock! Phenomenal!
Then, during the first half of summer, the Burlington Welcome Center requested more, and shortly thereafter so did the Julesburg Welcome Center. Yes, that’s more than what they went through in all of 2017! Unbelievable!
We hope (and believe) that what remains in stock in our office is sufficient to fill the direct orders from campers. (UPDATE: It wasn’t! We ran out long ago.)
We tally how many are distributed to each location, and how many are ordered online from campers or in bulk. At the end of the year, we also tally how much was left at our primary distribution points. Based on this year’s demand, it looks like we need to increase our order … again! (UPDATE: The Board approved an additional 20,000 for 2019, taking our order up to 120,000.)
Distribution costs (time, materials and shipping) are tremendously large for our small budget. To save funds, we strive to provide each location with enough for the whole year, and we really appreciate when our members pick up their stash at the annual conference.
